Nicholson House

Completed 2009 and overlooking Gunnamatta Bay in Southern Sydney this house for a couple of academics was a dramatic transformation of a dark 1970’s house with good bones but poor amenity.
By clearing out the clutter of spaces on the upper level into one open plan Living / Dining / Kitchen space, the drama of the location was played out. Downstairs the rabbit warren of spaces became two studies linked by a library in a wide circulation space.
